Bingham RUFC pull out the stops and celebrate in style and look forward to Beer & Music Festival and other events in June

Bingham RUFC 40th year celebrated in style

Around 300 guests including past players, supporters, local business and guests including; Lady Mayor of Bingham, Councillor Stockwood and deputy Mayor Malcolm Barham, David Chamberlin, President of NLD, Pete Shaw, RDO for Nottingham & Jenny Mitton (who had arranged the rugbyforce event at the club earlier in the year) sat down to a superb 3 course meal provided by Paul’s of Bottesford in a specially erected marquee

We were fortunate to have 14 past captains in attendance, including Bob Williams, our very first captain

The event was to celebrate 40 years of Bingham Rugby although given the end of season we had, it turned into a fantastic celebration of our achievements this year winning pennant league 3 and the NLD Vase cup

We are extremely grateful for the generous sponsorship from ASC Metals & Out n about Mobility and thank Tony Hoole & Wayne Mason for the help they also contributed to the organisation of the event. Our fund raising would not have proved the success it was without the generosity of many who contributed lots to our auction and we convey our sincere thanks to all who donated.

You will be pleased to learn the whole event has enabled the club to raise essential funds and, work on repairs to the exterior of club can now start.

From the auction and raffle, we were also able to make donations to the Matt Hampson Trust and when you wish upon a start childrens charity totalling in excess of £550.

Entertainment was provided by the Splinter band who kept the dance floor full all night

The event was the culmination of 5 months hard work by a small group of club members, Chris Packer, Wayne Mason, Jonathan Thomas, Huw Thomas & Eric Holden and we are all pleased at the many favourable comments on the night.

Thanks for your support

Please go to the website to view a selection of photos and buy this weeks Bingham Advertiser to see Chris Garrod on the dance floor
