Countdown to our Charity Challenge

Countdown to our Charity Challenge

Chris Packer31 Oct - 21:27

“1,000,000 metres. 50 hours. Two guys. Three incredible causes.”

Only three weeks to go until two of our Mini & Junior coaches, Dan Martin and Chris Packer, take on an extraordinary test of endurance — the Wattbike Charity Challenge

The Challenge

Starting at 8:30 am on Friday 21 November at the club, Dan and Chris will swap the rugby pitch for a Wattbike and take it in turns to ride an incredible 1,000,000 metres (621 miles) over 50 hours.

They will finish their epic challenge at 10:30 am on Sunday 23 November — all to raise funds for three charities close to their hearts:

• Blood Cancer UK – in memory of Dan’s wife
• Matt Hampson Foundation – supporting those injured in sport
• National Autistic Society – championing understanding and support

The Weekend Ride

Throughout the 50-hour effort, Dan and Chris will keep the pedals turning through:

• Bingham 1st XV vs Skegness and the Autumn Internationals on the big screen
• A Sunday morning finale, cheered on by our Minis & Juniors

This challenge is about far more than distance, it’s about resilience, community spirit, and rugby values.

Get Involved & Show Your Support

With support from Wattbike Nottingham and Get More Vits recovery drinks, the pair are aiming to raise £4,000 to support their chosen charities.

We’re encouraging everyone in the Bingham RUFC family, players, parents, supporters, and friends to get behind them. Come down to the club over the weekend to cheer them on, and if you can, make a donation to help them reach their target.
