The prolonged dry weather has meant many grounds across the country are unsuitable for safe full-contact activity. With no meaningful or lengthy spells of rain currently forecast, these ground conditions are not expected to improve significantly in the short term
As a result, the RFU has confirmed that all competitive community rugby, senior men’s and women’s leagues, merit tables, and mini & junior rugby will now start from 21 September.
For Bingham RFC, this means:
Senior Rugby: No league or cup fixtures will take place before 21 September.
Training continues with strict pitch‑safety checks and modified contact. Friendly fixtures may proceed only if conditions allow.
Mini & Junior Rugby: All age‑grade competitive fixtures before 21 September are postponed.
Training can continue with reduced contact and ongoing pitch assessments. Our Coaches will be meeting later in the week to agree a safe, practical way forward & communications for all age groups.
The clubhouse remains open, and non‑contact formats are encouraged while we prepare safely for the season ahead.
