Our first home pennant fixture brought Nottingham Casuals 2nds to Brendon Grove. An afternoon totally opposite from the gales of Birstall with a pitch nicely softened after a few days rain ideal for open Rugby saw Casuals take immediate control with simp

After this poor start, Bingham came back into the game with Ben McGill taking good lineout ball and after a series of phases, the ball was fed to Tom King who rounded his winger and fed back to Matt Isherwood in support for a try on his debut. Chris Spibey then intercepted the ball from the Casuals scrum half and had the legs to run from half way for his debut try. Converted by Mike Challans 12 – 5. Bingham began to show much better support play and showed much more in defence and it was from a tackle by Paul Foster in our own 22 that led to Lee Stokoe securing loose ball feeding to Keith Lowthian and further interplay before Lee (Not sure where he found the legs) Stokoe popped up to collect the ball on Casuals 22 to cap an excellent move from 1 end of the pitch to the other. 17-5 but a casualty being Paul Foster in this period of play suffering a broken nose. Huw & Jason have since been in touch with Paul and can confirm very sore but the win makes it worth while. Lee Fretwell on for Paul. An excellent tackle from Tom King allowed Ben McGill to gather and gain 30 m to stop a Casuals attack. HT 17-5

Bingham were not quite able to match the heights of the 1st half with a break down in handling giving a kick on and break for Casuals to score 17–10 and then losing a maul that was won and allowing Casuals in the corner 17-15. Jason on for Jim Cooper and a penalty missed from 35m. a in the last minutes, a Casuals attack was thwarted and a kick and chase almost led to a try.
Final score 17-15. further improvement seen on the previous week and debut tries for Chris & Matt. A set back with Paul injured but good news with many on the touch line slowly about ready to make comebacks.
