Thanks go to North Hykeham for honouring the fixture as only had 11 players. Jon Thomas, Chris Bell & Keith Lowthian played for NH

Unfortunately with the lending of players and knowledge of only 11 NH players, the afternoon was inevitably a bit disjointed.
Good weather though brought out a good level of support to witness Bingham register 5th consecutive win.

A good early scrum saw Anthony Thomas almost fall over the line to score and converted by Tom Packer. Shortly after, clean line out released the backs and with Andy Birznieks playing in the centre was able to go over in the corner 12 – 0. North Hykeham played with great spirit running at any opportunity and Jon Thomas made a number of telling breaks and Bingham had to keep focussed. A lack of discipline though allowed NH to gain ground and possession but loose ball gathered and cleared by Anthony Thomas was chased down with Andy Birznieks collecting and gaining his 2nd and converted by Tom Packer. Tom Packer then left the game with a hamstring injury to be replaced by George Stewart playing out of position at scrum half. As the half came to a close, NH won a line out 15m out, the 10 ran back to the forwards and with the Bingham forwards almost stationary fed to Chris Bell to score for the visitors. HT 19 – 5

Jon Thomas again made telling gains and was held just short. Alex Jones left the field with blistered feet, Andy Birznieks moved to the pack and the unfortunate Jo Fisher made up the numbers. Jo having pulled his hamstring 4 weeks ago then dislocated his shoulder tackling Jon Thomas. (We are pleased to confirm Jo is as ok as he can be having had his shoulder put back.) The line held intact and Bingham took play back to NH and from a planned line out move, Anthony Thomas ran round, collected the ball and cut clean through the defence to score and convert. 26 – 5. A deep NH clearance found Gareth McGahan in his 22, initially Gareth must have thought the whistle went as he stood as still as statue but when prompted by all, he went off on a searing run and quickly took play back into the NH half. A line out followed, the Bingham backs passed the ball wide, recycled, cleared out the defence and Anthony Thomas broke the last line of defence for his hatrick. Chris Garrod hit the upright and the match finished 31 – 5 to Bingham.
