We said it would be hook or by crook and we did get a team out last Saturday but we did have to rely on coach Thomas to play a full 80 mins at 10. A welcome to new members, Jens Harris who started in the centre & Louis Howlett. Louis has his sights on the Bath Half marathon so he will be concentrating on this and we hope to see more of Louis later in the season and for next season. We also welcomed another Stewart, George making a debut on the wing.

Not the best of games and clearly a bit rusty with only our 2nd match since Christmas. However, 2 1st half penalties from George Stewart gave us a
6 – 0 lead. Good scrummaging, line out and defence limited Amber Valley to sporadic attacks but Bingham could not string enough possession together to dominate and feel entirely comfortable and it was not made safe until the latter stages of the 2nd half when Chris Garrod put a delicate chip through and in the chase for the line, Huw Thomas pounced on a loose ball to score. George added the conversion to make it a 13 – 0 victory
