A largely untried team took on Bourne in NLD Plate and came away with 32 - 5 win

Bingham began a rebuilding season with 6 new debutants and a pack lacking experience but played with a great team spirit epitomized by Mick Challans & Lee Fretwell starting in the 2nd row to overcome Bourne who to had several players unavailable.

Bourne came out the traps quickly and put Bingham under immediate pressure gaining a penalty within 5 minutes but hit the upright and Bingham ran the ball back and got into the Bourne half for the 1st time.

Bourne kept up the early pressure and Bingham defended well with Jon Staines leading the way with some big tackles and it was not until 15 minutes into the game after some excellent continuity that Bingham applied some pressure and after drives from Will Packer & Dan Bartram, the backs worked the ball wide for new boy Oscar Ciaurro to score in the corner.

This was followed on 25 mins with a penalty from Ben Packer as Bingham slowly got more into the game with some exciting runs from Jamie Graham. As half time approached a yellow to Bourne and after another period of Bingham pressure, good handling gets the ball wide again to Oscar for his 2nd try. converted from the touchline by Ben Packer HT 15 - 0

Bourne hit back immediately returning the kick off and exploited a gap in defence to score 15 - 5. A few changes made and Bingham withstand a concerted effort from Bourne to get back into the game. A couple of counter attacks but possession not retained and Bourne keep on the pressure to no avail.

As with the 1st half, Bingham work there way back and after closing in on the line gain a penalty taken quickley by Jonathan Thomas and scores under the posts. Converted by Ben, 22 - 5. Toby Billingham on at 10 and made an immediate impact with a line break following a line out and Paul Linney was held just short.

Nick Pitsillos on for his 1st game and a pick up from Alex Richards covering at 8 and the ball spread wide but just missing Oscar for what would have been a hat trick. Although still under some pressure the scrum was securing possession. Line outs were not working as best they could but after a line out won by Mick Challans, Paul Linney makes the break and scores 27 - 5.

Both sides showing signs of tying up allowing some space and Paul Linney feeds Toby Billingham who puts Oscar away but this time tackled short of the line and Toby on hand to pick up loose ball to score 32 - 5

Good performances all round with special mentions for Oli Dodge & Josh Gorodecky making their senior debuts
