With a cancelled league game, Bingham takes the opportunity of a friendly with Long Eaton lll and give starts and game time to new faces
Bingham kept a winning run going with a comprehensive win away @ Long Eaton lll. Starts for Pete Corah & Steve Guiton in the front row, Harry Lister in the back row Chris Pearman on the wing and opportunities for James Seagrave & Pete Coppack in unfamiliar positions in the backs. Most of the new faces a result of recruitment over the summer and a valuable opportunity for the lads to gain experience
A cutting wind blew across the pitch with each side sharing early opportunities but not until 15 minutes did Bingham break the deadlock with a Will Packer score in the backs and converted by Will.
The wind created a few headaches for defenders on both sides but Bingham got on top with further tries in the first half from Will Packer, Jonathan Thomas, Oli Dodge & James Seagrave. 3 conversions in the 1st half from Will with one terrific kick from the touchline into the wind. Ben Jones making some tasty breaks and half time came with Bingham Leading 0 – 31
Will Packer was replaced at 10 after picking up a dead leg during the 1st half by moving Jack Barnard to cover his position and bringing on Craig Siddall into the pack for only his 2nd outing this season
A Scrappy 1st half to the 2nd half with chances to both sides and passes going awry. Pete Coppack made a great goal line steal to save a try and kick-started the 2nd half with 2 quick tries; 1 from Ben Jones & James Seagrave.
Long Eaton lost a front row and Craig Siddall took a worrying hit on a restart with 10 mins left. Bingham kept the sides to 14 v 14 but ran in 2 further tries from Ben Jones & Pete Coppack. Jack Barnard added 3 2nd half conversions for a final score of 0 – 57
Thankfully Craig appears fine & Grateful to Long Eaton to agreeing to play the fixture
