Bingham welcomed local rivals Nottingham Corsairs to Brendan Grove on a very unwelcoming afternoon and a heavy Pitch
Both sides willing to run the ball in very difficult conditions and early encounters pretty even
Corsairs exerted some pressure but Bingham gained possession, worked the ball down the field and slick hands saw the ball moved quickly & a decisive run from George Stewart gave Bingham the lead on 20 minutes. Will Packer added the conversion 7 - 0
A missed penalty from Will and Corsairs come back into the game putting huge pressure on the Bingham line but the line remains intact and almost get a try as Alex Richards intercepts in his own 22m but gets caught about 10m out
Corsairs opt for scrums rather than take penalty shots but Bingham hold firm.
The half concludes with more defensive work for Bingham as JT gets a yellow card after a high tackle but the defence holds out - HT 7 - 0
The 2nd half pretty much mirrored the 1st with both sides willing to play. Lineout and scrum working well for Bingham and under great pressure early in the 2nd half as Oscar Ciaurro sees yellow as well and down to 13 for 5 minutes.
Corsairs continued to pressure the Bingham line but again excellent defence keeps the opposition out and after gaining ground and denied a try scoring opportunity, Will packer opts for the penalty to put us 2 scores ahead 10 - 0
The light faded in the last 10 mins as Bingham applied some persistent pressure and Dylan Roberts showed some quick feet from a 5m scrum completely wrong footing the blind side winger to get a decisive score in the corner. Will Packer added the extra to make it 17 - 0 and Bingham held out for the win
