Bingham overcome the conditions to record a 7 try win

Bingham (15) 48
Tries: Alex Richards 2, Will Packer 2, Pete Coppack, Dylan Roberts, George Stewart, Cons: Will Packer x 3, George Stewart x 2, Pen: Will Packer
Castle Donnington (3) 17

Bingham prove too strong for Castle Donnington as Five 2nd half tries pulled Bingham clear of a dogged display by the visitors.

Determined to get a game despite a really heavy pitch, both sides played their part where the mist almost brought the curtain down early.

Will Packer went over early on adding the conversion and a penalty. With a penalty in return, the score was kept to 10 – 3 before Alex Richards scored to extend the lead, 15 – 3.

Castle Donnington brought a large pack but Bingham had the overall edge with more precise work in the backs but half time came 15 – 3

With Alex Richards getting his 2nd try the lead stretched to 20 – 3.

Penalties allowed Castle Donnington to kick to the corner and from a line out peeled round and drove forward to score 20 – 10

A clean break then from George Stewart who added the conversion before Donnington again brought the margin back to 10 points with another forward drive after some great Bingham defence 27 – 17

Sean Richardson showed some great tenacity making plenty of tackles at the breakdown as defence across the whole squad stood firm as the backs then scored 3 more converted tries to dominate as confidence and clinical finishing broke Castle Donnington

Pete Coppack finished off a good move with George Stewart adding the conversion before Will Packer converted his 2nd

The game was finished off by a dazzling solo try from Bingham MoM Dylan Roberts sniping around the maul on half way, then chipping and winning the race to touch down.

Plenty still to work on as conditions worked against both teams but played in excellent spirit

Good defence and pressure saw Bingham turn the screw in the 2nd half and ultimately dictate how the game went with a telling factor being turnovers at line outs and Bingham then taking the opportunities

Next week we return to league action travelling to Notts Moderns
