What a difference a week can make seems to be our tag line - only 13 players on Thursday night but eventually get 3 subs - why oh why do we make it so hard for ourselves

With an injury list building and several players unavailable, grateful to Andrew Gill managing a half, Chris Bell playing out of position in 2nd row, Sam Jackson making his debut start at 9, never having played there before, Nick Green moving to centre to allow Chris Garrod to cover full back, Jason Churchill turning up to sub almost stepping off the plane from America and the ever youthful Andy Bramley once again pulling on the green and red shirt for a 20 minute Cameo.

After a disjointed warm up with concerns how the backs would line up, Andy Birznieks inspires Bingham to a bonus point win and just about seals the title.

Playing with a strong wind Bingham had a reasonable start but Casuals looked dangerous in the backs as they ran early possession and almost got round the defence with Chris Garrod just clinging to the Casuals winger prevented a breakthrough.

After surviving this scare Bingham got going with an Anthony Thomas penalty shortly followed by an Andy Birznieks try, this after Jonathan Thomas breaks from a scrum on half way feeding Lee Fretwell to be held short but recycled ball and Andy Birzieks switching the attack blind was fed by Pete Mount. 0 – 8

Shortly after, Anthony Thomas makes a half break and puts Andy Birznieks under the post; Anthony converts for a 15 point lead.

Casuals put us under some pressure but great defence in the backs with Andy Birznieks and Nick Green putting in some crushing tackles relieving the threat. Anthony Thomas misses a penalty just before half time 0 -15.

A few changes at half time sees Andy Bramley on the flank, Dave Fairchild to hook as we prepare for what could a tough 2nd half playing into the wind.

1 minute into the 2nd half and Pete Mount gets a harsh yellow as the ref judges he brought down the jumper in the line. Just when all the cards in casuals hand, Lee Stokoe makes a break for the line, does all the hard work and loses the ball as about to score. Bingham get a penalty though and Anthony stretches the lead to 18.

Defence in the backs was tremendous and just did not let Casuals have any time on the ball and Chris Garrod had only 1 kick to collect throughout the 2nd half.

The scrum once again became dominant and pushed Casuals off the ball and JT quickly broke and Andy Watts scores in the corner 0 – 23
Pete Mount back on and straight from the ko, Lee Stoke sets off on a 40m rampaging run, feeding Andy Bramley who offloads to Pete Mount who has the legs to get the bouns point try 0 – 28.

Sam Jackson was fitting into the role at scrum half and was putting in some great tackles around the fringe showing his preferred back row position.

Andy Bramley comes off as does Pete Mount with Jason Churchill and Tom Didsbury back into play.

Following a quick penalty by Jason, Andy Watts makes the half break and feeds Chris Bell to score. Converted by Anthony Thomas 0 – 35.
The match was almost rounded off in superb fashion as Anthony Thomas chips the defence in his own half, gathers the ball and runs the length only to just run out of steam 5m out.

FT 0- 35; a great win and 2nd half performance with terrific tackling in the backs.

Andy Bramley also heard to say he has 1 more season left in him.
