Not the ideal start as Bingham travelled to Gainsborough with a bare 16 and forwards having to provide cover in the backs.

That said, an excellent opening 20 minutes with Bingham dominating and working well in close contact picking and driving. The initial score coming from open play with Oscar Ciaurro, now starting at hooker getting his 1st of the season and Andy price adding the conversion.

A penalty from Andy Price shortly after but then Bingham seem to switch off half way through the half and allow Gainsborough to get territory and valuable possession. Bingham though hold firm and go into half time 0 - 10 up.

A steady start to the 2nd half with Andy Price adding a 2nd penalty before Gainsborough get on the score sheet with a try 5 - 13. Matt Forde picks up a knock bringing Dave Fairchild into the fray. Good contributions from Tony Woolerton and a welcome appearance from Lee Stokoe bolstering the front row.

Good scrum pressure led to 2 scrums against the head leading to scores; the 1st allowing Jonathan Thomas to collect the ball and score and in the last 5 mins the backs getting the ball from the scrum turnover and Lee Fretwell going over.

With so many missing and players out of position, an excellent away win 5 - 23 - reasons to be cheerful
