Hard fought game but sweet 2nd half running in 4 tries to defeat local rivals Keyworth

Early Keyworth pressure resulted in a Penalty but this fell short and despite subsequent possession, Keyworth was unable to score as resolute defence kept the line intact even after 10 minutes playing with 14 after a high tackle.

Jamie Graham proved to be a constant menace counter attacking whenever he could and Bingham slowly began to manage the game with Matt Cumming controlling the attacks at 10

A yellow each after a fracas on the touchline

Matt Cumming took on 3 long range penalties with the 1st hitting the crossbar which Tom Packer following up collected but was then held just short; the others falling just short & wide

Bingham finished the half stringing some good phases of play together and the backs beginning to work opportunities although the half finished 0 - 0

Despite Keyworth now benefitting from a stiff breeze, Bingham took control with an early try following a chip & chase

A subsequent scrum saw Jonathan Thomas breaking and with good movement and runners in the backs Jamie Graham exploited a small gap to score 10 - 0

A key moment as an interception by George Stewart saw him almost run the length; support kept possession and Keyworth conceded a penalty - pushed wide by Tom Packer who made amends shortly after to add a penalty 13 - 0

A break from Jonathan Thomas and continuity got the ball to within 5m and whilst possession was lost, pressure was maintained on the Keyworth line and forced another penalty for Tom Packer 16 - 0

With 10 mins left the lead was stretched further as Mick Challans was in support of a break to score - conversion added by Tom Packer 23 - 0

A couple of missed tackles then allowed the Keyworth full back to break through and score under the posts 23 - 7

Immediately from the restart, Bingham kept the ball in the forwards and drove forward close to the touchline but kept the ball in play for Sam Jackson to go over for the try bonus point win 28 - 7

A sweet 2nd half with confidence growing, support play & continuity improving
