England v Samoa robbed Bingham of 8 players and with the unavailability of others left us with insufficient front row to be able to confirm the fixture.
However, despite the concession, a friendly was agreed so as to make sure both teams got a game and by Friday, we had 15 and a front row
The game started well pressurising the Medan Vale scrum and more than holding our own in other areas of play. After 20 mins though, an injury to the Medan front row led to uncontested scrums and any advantage we had was lost.
Scores remained level until 5 mins before half time where a decisive Medan break made it 7 - 0 at half time
The lead was extended shortly after the restart before Bingham bounced back with Jamie Graham finishing off a good sustained period of pressure.
The game remained pretty even until the 60th minute when Ben Packer had to leave the field and Simon Lonslow hobbled on on the wing.
Medan vale used the advantage and were able to gain 2 late scores. 24 - 7
A tough week to get a team together but we managed to get the semblance of a team together and played in great spirit
