Bingham entertained Tupton and came up against arguably the biggest pack we have come across for many a year. Un daunted and without up to 9 players due to injury, Bingham competed well and gave as good as they received

although Tupton dominated the scrum possession and with it much of the early territory. Pete Mount left the field early on and gave a debut to Tom Crosse who during the game showed some great line out work and an interception from Tom almost got Jack Barnard away. Not until 30 mins were Tupton able to create the vital breakthrough to score under the posts after a clean line out and committed the defence. Some great counter attacking from Alex Richards and Glenn Sutton but unable to fashion the decisive break. As the half coming to a close, Tom Crosse secures the line out and the ball gets to brother Jordan in the centre who makes the break with Jack Barnard again in support but just not able to get clean through – a penalty conceded though and Bingham go into half time 3 – 7 down.

Early missed tackles on half way made the 2nd half a mountain to climb as Tupton stretched the lead to 3 – 14 especially as Alex Richards leaves the field with another injury for us to contend with. Despite the scrum under pressure, Jonathan Thomas was able to create some opportunities and retain possession and good interplay between Jordan Crosse, Glen Sutton and Lee Fretwell gains good ground and keeps us in the game.

The whole team were committed and looked dangerous when able to release the ball and get away from the Tupton pack but in chasing the game and applying pressure, a loose pass and a breakaway By Tupton inside their own half took it to 3 – 21.

Again Bingham came back and forced a string of penalties ultimately leading to a yellow for Tupton and from a quick tap, Jack Barnard got a well deserved try for the team. Anthony Thomas converted and despite last minute efforts, the score ended 10 -21.

A loss but so many positives at the club at this time with so many missing and many lads stepping up and proving their worth.
