Bingham overcame Midlands 4 side Stamford College OB In this NLD Quarter final game played at Southwell

An excellent turnout and support for this quarter final tie with SCOB. Excellent forward pressure and dominance in the scrum during the first half saw Tom Packer break from a scrum 5m out to take a 5 - 0 lead. Bingham maintained the pressure not letting SCOB have sight of the goal line but SCOB scored after a cross kick eluded the chasing Fretwell and SCOB winger collected the ball and ran the length to take the leade 5 - 7. A penalty from Tom Packer gave Bingham a slender lead 8 - 7 at half time.

Playing uphill in the 2nd half and Bingham maintained territory but SCOB took the lead from a penalty which was clawed back quickly 11 - 10
A missed clearance kick put Bingham under pressure and eventually conceded a penalty which SCOB ran and the defence opened up with SCOB scoring and converting 11 - 17. with 19 mins to go, a turning point as SCOB prop gets sin binned and Bingham get a line out 10m out cleanly caught and driven and held short. from the resultant scrum, a dart from Tom Packer and recycled for Dylan Williams to go over; converted by Tom Packer 18 - 17

A tense final 10 min with each side giving as good as each other. The backs playing their part not allowing the SCOB backs any opportunities and the forwards disrupting scrums in the final minutes and finishing on top with a valuable scalp in League 4 Opposition

Both sides deserve lots of credit for an excellent game and Bingham now have the daunting challenge of going to Long Eaton in the semi - details to be confirmed as soon as we get them
