A smattering of Belper 1st & 2nd xv players and a few Bingham 1st's made this a hard fought contest particularly after gifting Belper the opening score after 30 seconds after the Belper Centre intercepted running the ball out.

Playing into a strong wind, Bingham slowly worked their way into the game and some steadfast defence kept Belper at bay. Scrums were strong and another setback as James Bennett came off with a calf injury. Despite this Bingham kept working their way upfield and got just reward with a levelling try. Half time 7 - 7

A few fresh legs for Belper on in the 2nd half but some great kicking and defence kept Belper in their own half for much of the time. A kick through was chased by Ben Sansom who injured his back almost getting to the ball to score.

With resources now stretched, Will Packer Marshalled the backs despite carrying injuries and just reward came as Ben Jones scored the 2nd.

More fresh Belper legs put the scrum under some pressure but in the dying minutes, Bingham forced a scrum and Matt Payne someone worked his way through to seal the game.
